My own prescription for health is less paperwork and more running barefoot through the grass”
Everything happens for a reason! When I look back on all the experiences I had with food, I simply get scared. I had different moments in my life where I did not eat at all, or I ate just a bit with the idea that the food was not important, or I would be eating nonstop, hiding in my room and pretending that it was normal. The only way I passed all these phases of my life was due to tremendous support from my friends and family to who I am grateful forever. They never gave up on me so I decided to not to give up on myself. Every day is a fight that we go through and we should be strong and well-nourished to face any obstacles facing us in our life.
Last year I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition as a holistic nutrition coach because I wanted to learn more about modern nutrition. I was surprised that there are not many options to choose from and most of the schools are in USA. Luckily, I found a perfect online course that lasted one year and taught me a lot about food and the current situation in the medical industry. I am sure you are asking yourself what is the health coach? There are many definitions but the one that works the best for me is my own. The way I define the health coach – is a person/professional friend who is supporting you and helps to feel better through food and lifestyle changes.
The greatest wealth is Health!
The coach is tailoring individual “time to get better” program and focuses on the specific clients needs. From my learning experience, there is no need to focus on just one side of the person, the health coach is using the holistic approach, evaluates emotional state, discovers lifestyle and current diet habits to determine the reason why the client is not feeling well. Health coach is the person I needed when I was going through my weird eating habits who could help me to look at the psychological side of my problems and advise the healthy solution for recovery. My friends helped me a lot but sometimes I did not want to burden them with too much information and could really use the help of the professional.
Lets stay positive, this is all in the past and now after graduation I learned many interesting facts about myself, my bio-individuality and nutrition. I am not practicing health-coaching (at least not yet) but for now I am on my own healing journey trying to discover new food recipes, pickle the vegetables (not working very well yet but I am sure I will improve) and simply enjoy the whole process.
The course teaches you to better understand your body, mind and soul, allowing you to study at home and have a flexible timetable. This is perfect choice for people who would like to increase their knowledge about nutrition and become a part of the community. I had an opportunity to become an INN Ambassador that allows me to share some interesting information that can be useful for potential students. If you would like to learn more about the school I invite you to visit their website (link below) and download first class for free (link below). It explains in details what to expect from the course and what are you potential career opportunities after graduating.
