PEOPLE WILL STARE, MAKE IT WORTH THEIR WHILE
Lately, I have been inspired by the magnificent richness of the beautiful color – Burgundy. It earned its name after the red wines coming from Burgundy vineyards in France. Oddly enough, in Burgundy this color is referred to as “bordeaux”, which is another wine region producing similar red wine color. (Oui Oui) The first use of “burgundy” as a color name in English was recorded in 1881. Burgundy shade is slightly lighter than maroon color, since it is the mix between brown and purple. Comparing to other colors of red it lacks fun and light energy.
There are few popular versions of burgundy:
- Vivid Burgundy – earned the name after specific hair dye color and became popular
- Old Burgundy – brighter than the traditional color and came into use in 1920th
Burgundy is often associated with higher class society and deep red shades are signifying sophistication. It is the color that is indicating power, seriousness, powerful female energy and sense of high ambition. People who are trying to display their power and strength may use burgundy to show these traits.
